my xmas competition model

Postby Cleo » Sat Nov 14, 2015 5:26 pm

my model is called 'The Swifts' MiG-29. i do not know the retail price but i just brought it out of my pocket money for £5.99
i hopefully want to make it into a colorful space ship. my Dad is going to help me start it of and show me how to do some bits of it but i am going to mainly have a go at it on my own. this is my first ever plastic model that i am making. hopefully it goes well. :)

Nice little kit - and it looks really small. I'm sure you'll have fun building it :D

A great choice for your first ever plastic kit. Nice to see one of our youngest female and newest members to have entered this year comp. I'll look forward to seeing the finished model.

 I not too sure about the RRP price on that ;)

Yes I did let Chloe lose on my best air brush :o

I'm very impress with the finish of the paint for your first ever use of an airbrush, you've done an excellent job. Well done

You did find it hard to initially work the airbrush, you didn't quiet get the hang of pushing down the trigger and then pulling it back to release the paint, so you first few attempts meant that you was just trying to paint with just nothing but air coming out. But you soon got the hang of it and went from no paint coming out to spraying too much. Taking a look on how the green has dried, it has gone a bit patchy and it looks like you be having another go of my airbrush later to give it another coat.

Hopefully you'll be able to get this finished before the end of the month.

ps.. guess who ended up cleaning the airbrush afterwards?

I've just let Chloe lose again with the airbrush to give the green one more coat. This time I left her unsupervised and she's done a great job.

I think it mainly down to the H&S Silverline Evolution airbrush which I highly recommend.

 .......

....or Chloe simply had a great teacher

Here is the update on my model plane, I am finding it a bit hard to glue together but I am getting there slowly. Sadly I do not have time to finish my dinosaur model before the competition ends because of school work.

Looks really good Cleo. Great work with the airbrush

Shame you won't finish the dinosaur, but school work is more important !! I can move that thread to another section if you want to continue with it after the competition ends.
Cheers

You manage to strip some of your lovely paint work off by applying too much glue, but you took my advice and only glued together all the green parts and then you gave it a respray over the parts where you manage to damage the paint. This corrected it nicely.

:o :liar: Is that what you call watching the TV :naughty: ;)

Only my daughter Chloe has manage to lose the clear glass for the cockpit and also the transfers :o I manage to find some packaging from my superglue that when cut to size fits the cockpit nicely.

I think she is doing a lovely job for her first ever plastic kit. I'm very proud of her, well done
