Do the instructions tell you which colour to paint where, sorry if you've already told us ;)

Cheers mustang :)
to be honest i didn't see any reference to colour scheme in the instructions, will have to take another look.
I just quickly researched the plane on google to find out and chose the closest likeness. I also think the shapes are a little on the large size for this scale but they would be too small to paint
do the green later :)

All those colours have gone well together. You've really done a great job with painting all those tiny sections, it must have taken you ages. Well done

Hi roy :)
I did a few a day until finished.
The hardest part for me was the last colour  trying to keep some sort of pattern without the same colours running into each other.
When dry I gave the decals a coat of semi gloss clear
Image

the semi gloss clear is still wet in the photo and should lose It,s shine when dry

Nice work Casper, that must have taken a reallyt steady hand to accomplish! I'll admit I was a bit dubious about the pink being added at first but it actually works in the mix.

Hi Chadders,

In the first world war the German's experimented with many types of different camouflage schemes and colours for their planes, perhaps more so than the British, though I'm not sure on this.

When Casp originally mentioned that he'd added the pink for Jess, I think that was rather tongue in cheek, as the German's did actually try this colour and many others. :)

Thank you all for your kind comments :) really appreciated
lots of amazing colour schemes for the lozenge pattern but this was the one i was trying to achieve. I think its close but far from perfect, the thin lines would have been good to do but difficult for me at this scale

With the clear coat dry it was time to add the decals and the wheels
some touching up to do here and there

Top wing dry fitted to check alinement
the front spar needs a touch up with the blue to get a nice sharp edge

Very nice mustang  love the colour scheme, the supports for the wings look a lot thinner than the kit parts. Nice moving parts I see

Thanks matey :)
it all looked a bit to clean for my liking so after fitting the pilot and wing uprights I gave it a vallejo black wash, to be honest I think I over did it  but a clean up with q-tips and it looks ok...and well used :D
Well the supports for the wings were a nightmare to fit and a few moments where it nearly ended up in the bin :angry-banghead: :shifty: won't be doing another one of these for a while  but it was fun :)
The only thing that needs doing is the cables for the tail and under the lower wing but my nerves have had enough for one day, also the leading edge need touching up.
Not sure if I will have time to make a base  we will see
pics :)
