I'm pleased that your four legged friend found your rotary blade and didn't eat it :)

This will definitely be a great build. So much that you are doing with this and keeping to the research. I hope it goes well :)

Managed to get sometime to start this.

First up I need to remove the top section.

From this.

To this.

This part will need to be split in half again.

After removing the top section I've got the next problem which is the gap

Image

To round this I'll insert a false roof and then fill the top gap.

This is going to be an interesting build and if your last years entries are anything to go by, this is going to be one to watch.

Soundproofing started.

Added to the false roof section.

This was achieved with some tin foil and scribing in the lines.

Cheers guys.

Casper I just used double sided sellotape, then run some superglue around the edges.

The rest of the soundproofing.

Image

Image

An extra piece of plasticard added to the end of the floor.
Image

The corners will be glued down once this is fitted.
Image

The Windows will also be moded just a simple sanding down if the edges.
Image

You can see the difference in the first photo.

Hi Paul.

I've used tin foil on other models a long time ago.

Easy to use and can be scribed easily.

The next chop job as b_a puts it was the main rotor blades, I wanted them to be stowed so this meant I had to take them from the fixed position for flight to folded.

Sorry for the photos been doing this in the front room late at night.

This is how the kit has them
Image

I had to get this part to swing back

So the first thing I did was to remove the end of the blades.
Image

This part was then glued to the rotor head.
Image

Sorry forgot to take a photo at this point :angry-banghead:

After that I corrected the angle of the blades. ( during the day before going to work)
Image

The following night I rebuilt the blades and head unit.

I first cut a groove into the end of the blades and inserted a piece of plasticard and then reshaped it to the correct shape and size, then I cut a groove into the rotor head to take the new piece of plasticard.
Image

The out come was this.
Image

I drilled .03mm holes for the pivot pins.
Image

And yes they can be swang out back to there original position. :)
