Eaglemoss 1:8 Mercedes 300SL subscription

Postby Eagle36 » Sat Feb 14, 2015 1:35 am

I stumbled upon this new offering today:
https://www.eaglemoss.com/de-de/modelle ... des-300sl/

Only available in Germany, Austria, but not for the US unfortunately-- I want this model; any suggestions on how to subscribe and have it shipped to the US? :angry-banghead:

This thing is going to be HUGE.

That's a euro cent for reference.

Welcome to the forum greyhawk, will you be doing your own build diary on this one?

Unfortunately no, at least not in the form I would be proud to call it a build diary. I have a rather time intensive build diary already running on the DeAgostini forums for the D51.

I'll will however try to post some small pictures showing the progress every month or so.

EDIT: Disregard the above. Build diary is up: viewtopic.php?f=111&t=6629

welcome greyhawk, it's 1:8 scale so it was obvious it'll be a big model... ;) not as big as the citroen ds21, but pretty nice...
I know of at least 3 other members here who'll get it so there will be diaries for sure :D

For some reason Eaglemoss has stopped sending my subscription issues; I have sent them several emails , including to an address listed on this forum, but have yet to receive a reply. I'm in the US so telephoning them is not an easy task, i've have not received any issued since July. I subscribed in February and everything was coming monthly to my helpful friend in europe to receive them, I pay them directly-- any suggestions would be appreciated

This does not surprise me. I ordered something from their shop a few months ago and it took me several campaigns where I disrupted any posting they made on any of their social media to get any sort of reply at all. Of course the replies were all lies until after several more campaigns they finally admitted they had no clue when if ever they would be able to supply my items. Even then they didn't seem to concerned about refunding my money. By now this has been resolved by Paypal clawing back my money from them.

If you check their media feeds, these are full of people complaining about non-delivery, unauthorized charges and so on. At this point I would recommend lawyering up and getting your bank involved.

interestingly, this seems to be a pretty much german/UK affair with the horrible eaglemoss service -
I got the alpine renault from eaglemoss france and we're 3 issues off the end, so far no troubles at all...

btw greyhawk, if I may step in for eagle, they simply stopped sending issues, they didn't charge him a penny in advance as far as I know...
so the only thing to send out lawyers would be if they stopped doing the model at all leaving the customers with an unfinished model...

hehe, and maybe a really big flop in pocher sales -
remember, most german subscribers are well over halfway - so selling that off could only be done for naught -
and no one except really hardcore nuts like ourselves would go and buy a pocher after the partworks is finished... ;)

I think I am going to not pursue my Eaglemoss sub any further. I have a lovely rolling chassis, that I need 1 more issue to complete as such. I'm about 1/2 way done, but I think I'll still come out ahead with the Pocher.

They just stopped mine as well. No reason, no letter, no anything.
