Sorry for the delay guys but my internet and phone line have been down for a few days, engineer calling today

Well Roy I went to Aldi and came out with this kit  :D
they also had the Churchill tank and red arrow but I have already done the tank.
you get four paints and a mediocre paint brush (bent)
should make a start soon

Great choice of kit and a bargain at Aldi price's

I should imagine you be swapping that bent brush for your airbrush and the paint for Vallejo/Tamiya paints (or what ever make of paint you use) :D

Hi Roy, yes when I get chance mate :shifty: I may try the kit paints through an airbrush and see how they look.

Messerschmitt made a number of modifications to the Bf 109, one being the air intake filter on the engine's port side for the tropics. can anyone tell me Is that the only difference between this 109E model kit and the 109E-4/7 Trop

Moved this to the Aircraft section :) Been sitting in a tub on my shelf for months so I thought i would get it out and have some fun with it.
small amount of filler here and there and two support rods for the rear wing, the kit ones snapped

After a light grey primer I did some erratic pre shading :shifty:
My Son Shane got me a cheap single action airbrush (china) so I gave it the once over and tried it out, Not used to a single action brush and didn't have a very steady hand this morning so looks a bit over kill. :)

I used Vallejo light blue instead of the kit blue

To be honest the airbrush was a bit troublesome and needs some attention
I think i will get my double action brushes out and give them a going over as well while I'm at it.

I airbrushed everything but the yellow areas, these were done with a brush because my airbrush tip rubber washer went awol and I couldn't get good paint flow. :shifty:
To be honest it would have been far quicker with a brush. Some of the yellow needs another thin coat.
The paint design I used isn't from a specific 109E-3, i just fancied some yellow here and there :D

Looking very nice Casper. The colour scheme looks great, even if it is a bit of a what-if.
Cheers

:laughing-rolling:
Not entirely sure why I added yellow to the wing tips :shifty: but it doesn't look right  so back to the camo colours I think and I'm going to paint the lower engine cowl yellow.
good fun and good practice. hope I don't offend :shifty: the only difference I can see is the decals for a specific aircraft
I'm not a fan of war in general (but we won't go into that :shifty: ) but I do like the engineering and camo designs
