My cars at the Dover Transport Museum

Postby R2D2 » Fri Mar 29, 2019 1:14 am

Just an update on my cars at the Dover Transport Museum. They have not been able to build the new display cabinet yet as they have been to busy doing more important work to other exhibits and to the museum grounds. However They are in a display cabinet and are on display to the public. The museum have promised the new cabinet will be done at the end of the year when the museum closes for the winter. Here are some pics of my models and although they are not in a new cabinet are well displayed. I set them out myself so it all looks a bit haphazard but they are in date order from the 1887 diamler to a 1987 Ferrari F40. Just shows the progress in 100 years of motoring.

I don't know about the museum being chuffed casper. I'm chuffed and honored. The museum are quite picky as to what to display. They are offered items almost every day but the museum will only accept items that are good for display and represent transport. Its a little legacy for me and I know my models will be well looked after and available for the public to see. At the moment they are on permanent loan to the museum but when I pop my clogs they will inherit them.

That’s a lovely display R2. Certainly an achievement to be very proud of.
Cheers

Amazing models and so deservedly that the Museum have chosen to display your models despite having other offers on a daily basis. I'm sure that you will stand there proud when museum guest are viewing your work and you are secretly saying to yourself, "I built them" :D

Thanks for all your positive comments. I am proud and apparently the museum are going to make a plaque saying who supplied and built the models so this will be another legacy.
