The first bit of masking took some time but the airbrushing only took ten minutes :)
I used household masking tape for the larger areas but you have to be careful you don't pull the paint off when removing it. won't use it again though
I finally decided on Vallejo USA Flat brown model air and I'm pleased with the results, the side panels and rear spoilers are next.

went a bit OTT with the masking

Good job on the masking, cant see any bleed through, but I see you missed a bit on the very front of the vehicle

Hi matey
Took my time masking and it payed off....up to now
Won't be using the decorators masking tape again for the larger areas as it's difficult to remove without damaging the paint.
Few more bits to mask and paint on the main body then it's the rear spoilers.

Have you tried "frog"tape? I find it a lot better than ordinary masking tape https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sourc ... 5s55UKAEQg

thanks for the tape tip number1, I just happened to have some on the shelf

masked up and painted the remainder of the camo. Again it took ages to mask and ten minutes to paint

couple of small spots need a bit of paint but overall I'm pleased with the outcome though I may change the black area, doesn't look right

Thanks for the K Ian :)
the tumbler is far from screen accurate but I tried to get the camo as close as possible from reference photos.

Hi steve, thanks :)
will be sanding the tread areas a little and may add some dust later.
The front wheel parts will be removed for the clear coat but I have some weathering to do first and the rear wheels will stay masked up for now.
I wish I had cut out the side air intakes and meshed them but I can still add detail with paint.

After adding small strips of styrene for fixing points the side panels were glued in place. I had to dismantle the car to fit the rear wing section and paint the camo on the nose piece.
Some touching up here and there and then I can think about weathering

Now the sides are glued in place the mask can be removed from the rear wheels
The four screw holes that hold the rear wing in place will be covered with small (punched) styrene disks then painted matt black
Not sure if I should clear coat before adding more detail or just go for it

Personally I would seal it before adding any more detail. Just in case you want to remove it plus it will help when adding any oil based oils.
