Amusing Hobby Jagspanther II

I have had this completed for some time. Actually just before I started the big Jagdtiger, so I thought I would put it up!

Amusing Hobby are a newcomer onto the scene and they are building a solid reputation for good and unusual kits. They seem to be concentrating on paper panzers and they are getting a good following.

Their Jagdpanther II is one paper panzer that can be found also in World of Tanks and is a formidable beast with a 128mm gun mounted. Here's the sprues.

Here's a close up of where the main gun fits. In the factory they have removed a runner that helped mould the space and also whoever removed it snapped part of the hull. I have circled in red where the damage is. It won't show in the finished thing, but Ideally the space runner should have been left on as a transit guard and the modeller would have been much more careful in removing when starting the build

The decals are a basic set of crosses and numbers. This is fine as it was never built but modellers may want to dip into their spares box for divisional and regimental insignia etc.

Alternative parts for the track guards. I have two sets, but I think there should only be one! Not sure though!

It's a nice and neat kit and looks like building it should be fun and not time consuming.

Here's the build. A straight forward one that produces a really nice result

The kit tracks are not so easy to put together...

So I ordered some Friul tracks and while they were on their way broke out the paint! I decided to use original paints for 1945 and do a two tone splinter pattern. The entire vehicle was painted RAL 6003 as the base coat and then out came the masking tape!

Once the same had been applied to the main gun I then decided to put some kill rings on...

The tracks arrived and they were easier to put together...

Once the tracks were built up and painted and installed then the top section was added along with all the equipment.

With some really good weather at the moment here's the finished result and you can see the true actual colours of RAL 7028 (Jan1945) and RAL 6003.

They are really nice kits to build up and I did enjoy it!

Thanks guys. It does build up very easily with the only caveat is adding the etched side skirts. The instructions are not really clear on just how they fit and I have had to bend the front ones out a little to accommodate the track width.
