Lulubell (the newer one)

Postby Morris » Sat Aug 11, 2018 8:08 pm

As usual, I tend to binge build - As Iv'e finished my 1/16 static Fury, I want to build a Lulubell M3 Lee from the movie(s) 'Sahara' - (very fictional I know) - Anyway I'm converting a Heng Long RC M4A3 Sherman (hopefully)....It will be the later TV movie one that had Jim Belushi playing Humphrey Bogart's part....

It took two days to remove the chevrons from the tracks so they resembled early T41 tank tracks.....'Later' Lulubell had WE210's (little notches in the rubber pads) but I stuck with the early T41's as it was enough work removing the chevrons...!

Aim to back date the bogie system next to a M3 style/system... :D

Now backdating the M4-A3 bogie system to a M3/early M4 using Warren Hudson / Shapeways 3D printed parts...Lot's of surgery required but it works well in the end - 5 of 6 done today...

2 stages of what I figure will be 4-5 stages of weathering. I figured I had to kinda layer it on to make it look real. Also working on the tail lights - Had to fill the housings with 'realistic water' - Will paint after 24 hrs and drill/mount them in back.
