Hi Folks, I’ve got a bit of a scoop for you. There is a new model company about to be launched, and they will be releasing a new build-up model series.
I can’t give you any more details at the moment, safe to say that the person behind it has many years in the partwork industry. I’m expecting a really exciting model.

I hope to be able to give you more details soon. Probably sometime next week, so stay tuned!

I’ve been promised the first announcement, so you’ll be the first to hear about it.

OK folks! At last, I can reveal all. The new company is Agora Models, and their first product is the fantastic Shelby GT500 Super Snake. The most expensive Mustang ever sold (Over $2,000,000!!) Needless to say, it’s in 1/8 scale, a fully licensed product, big and beautiful!

Agora promise no test releases! It is a full release. I believe that the same will hold true for all future models.

The model is available over a 12 or 24 month subscription and is available for pre-order now. The first pack is likely to be shipped at the end of January.

The web site is www.agoramodels.com. Go take a look. I’m sure you’ll be as excited as I am! I know at least 1 member will be, and I know 1 member will be disappointed at twice the number of wheels as he’d like!

The person behind this is Liam White, one of the founders of Model Space. Model Space is very successful, and I’m sure Liam will be building on his experience to make Agora Models even better.

If you have any questions, please ask. I will do my best to get answers from the horse's mouth.

One final thing. There is a forum on the Agora web site. I have been assured that if you’re active on this forum, your user name is reserved so you can use it of the Agora forum. Drop me a PM if you find your user name already taken and I’ll sort it.

Nice to see a new company coming into the larger scaled model market.

Just a shame it's a Mustang as having the DeAg version it's not one I can justify buying. :(

Nice to see Liam back in the market doing what he's good at :)

I was disappointed in the DeAg Shelby, paint, chairs and engine detail too simple; placed order and have high expectations.

Looking forward to you first impressions Mark: Is this a rehash if the DeAg Shelby GT500 or a completely new tool? On their blog the first pack was shown:

I believe it’s a completely new tool, but I didn’t build the DeAg offering.
Yes, I shall be doing a build diary.

I hope Agora succeed - the big boys are not always giving the quality of parts , detail and paintwork that a £1000 plus kit deserves.
Hope to subscribe, when finances allow. GOOD LUCK

I've double checked with Agora. The model is a completely new tooling. They reply as below

I know that a 1:8 GT500 Mustang already exists, however, I have selected the Super Snake because of its character and uniqueness. I’ve had access to the original Shelby Super Snake and have created a new officially endorsed kit from new moulds with assistance and approval of Shelby American Inc. The 1:8 Super Snake is an Agora owned product, but given the similarities of the Super Snake to the original Mustang GT500, there are likely to be similarities in the model construction.
