Hmmm...

Mark, I changed your BBCode
from
[attachment]100_0065.JPG[/attachment]
to
[img]100_0065.JPG[/img]

and that's what it gives... Better, but still not very convincing. :(
(noted your picture size is: 2,304 by 1,728 pixels! Woo, a bit big there!

I can just see the mast tops and it's very weird reflection!

That is one loooooong picture, some resizing would be nice!!

Hello gentlemen,

May I present you Drum Major Goodman of the 7th Middlesex (London Scottish) Volunteer Rifle Corps, in 1897.
The man was a character: he stood six feet four, weighed in at 22 stone and required only the seating accommodation of three ordinary men!!!

Image

The picture displays correctly, apparently.
Mark, I believe posting piccies on this forum shouldn't extend 800 pixels in width. Suggest you resize your boat and put it back. ;)

Had a fiddle with the settings - it seems to work a bit better now.

This is a big file (seems that the file size limit doesn't apply to me ???

Or swimming?
Mark, how on earth do you do it, where's the trick? Can't figure out how you manage to post piccies with a BBCode saying: [attachment] ... [/attachment]
while they'd be coming with a: [img]...[/img] :?: :?: :?:
That kills me!

Now, another picture test, this time, landscape.
I knew you'd like Goodman, Eric, so here's another Scottish lad!
"Bannockburn, 1314"
One of my early scratch-built in my lead soldiers period.
Only some parts were modified: the shield, sword, pike and helmet.

I will go, I will go,
When the fightin' is over
To the land of McLeod
That I left to be a soldier
I will go, I will go...

Hmmm... There's indeed a problem there...
My landscape pic doesn't show the edges of the tree trunks on the right.
But at least, it's not scrolling!

Must be a disabling code somewhere that do not allow showing piccies wider than 600 pixels.
Was it the same case for your Bismarck, Eric?

Also, noted one more topic to be added in your "Think to do" list, boss:
the pages only allow to show up to 10 posts per page while the "Build the Bismarck" displays 15 posts each.
In no time we'll be over flooded!

Got it!
Just noticed that if my window is extended to almost its limits, the landscape picture resizes itself and display in full.

One problem solved, phew!

Is the [img} function the only way of adding pictures ? is there a way whereby images can be directly uploaded from our computers ? the only problem with the former is that should the donor link go down it sometimes erases all images as the re-boot can scramble them,is there a way whereby images can be pasted directly.
From his first flying machine built in a railway arch to producing World War Two's finest bomber,A.V.Roe we salute you.

Welcome 9JL!

I'm afraid it is. To my knowledge, there's no other way around to upload pictures...

You can upload images directly. Just below the Save - Preview - Submit buttons there are some options, and there is a tab marked upload attachements. Click on that and you can upload an image file. Then it gives you the option of inserting it into the post. Be aware that you can only upload small images. I've set low limits to preserve my limited web space !

Shout if you need any more help.
Cheers
