This Idea has been around for ages and looked pretty easy to do so when I came across one of the Zappers in a pound shop I thought I would give it a try
The Zapper looked like a small tennis racket with wire mesh before i dismantled it

(sorry no pick) but your left with three wires, two go to the out wire mesh and one to the inner mesh. You only need one of the two outer mesh wires so cut one away. I cut a hole through the bottom of the handle and poked the wire through, this is the wire you will connect to the area you will be adding static grass. The other wire is simply connected to the metal cage or tea strainer, I couldn't find a tea strainer anywhere

but after looking at other peoples reviews a flat cornered cage is better because you can reach tight areas better and get closer.
So after it was all assembled I walked in some Duracel batteries and gave it a try.
I used some Spring 6mm grass and Mod Podge
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the results were

it took three passes
few picks (taken at night no flash)
