Airfix Tardis

Postby Mark » Mon Mar 01, 2010 10:57 pm

This has been a small project that I've picked up and put down whenever the mood took me. I'm quite pleased with the way it's turned out. There is, of course, also Doctor and Martha figures to go with it, but I haven't done those yet. Have to wait a while for when the mood takes me.

Well, seeing as I forgot to paint the key hole, I had to use a sonic screwdriver !

Well spotted, have a K :)

Mark, just stumbled across this, browsing through the forum.
I too built the Airfix Tardis, It's what got Me back into modelling.
Did you ever get round to the figures? I completed them as you can see here  http://flyingthecamel.wordpress.com/2010/02/26/the-joys-of-airfix-and-other-childhood-memories/.
I'm guessing from your previous comments on the Sevans kits that we may have another interest in common apart from Models. I'm still trying to convince My wife that a full size tardis shed would be a good idea :!:  :!: For some reason she is just not biting :?

I haven't completed the figures yet. It was the Tardis I really wanted. I did have Sevans Tardis kit, but there looked to be a lot of work to get it up to a good standard, so I opted for this, and flogged the Sevans one on Fleabay. I do enjoy my Dr Who too.

Nice looking old girl there! But as a staunch Doctor Who fan I really have to point this out: it should be TARDIS not Tardis! ;) (Sorry, you're all going to hate me for that!)

I almost bought this kit from my local model store, but it recently changed hands and the new people didn't keep the stock. :( I'll get it eventually. I'm off to Collectormania soon so might find one there.

Great job mark!!

I searched high and low for this kit and when I did track one down they said they could not post it due to the cement (odd) I asked them if they could take the cement out and then send it but they declined this also :-(

Thanks guys. Full marks and a free anorak for Exinferis for correcting the title !

You're going to hate me for this, but I picked this up cheap at Maplins just after Xmas a few years ago.

Its going to be a good series- the writer is saying its going to be very very scary. With an alien/bad guy worse than the 'Crying Angels' :o

Is there room behind your sofa Cap'n??

Still theres always Ms Pond to keep us all calm.

Im shocked today- just read that the actress who played Sarah Jame Smith - Elisabeth Sladen - has passed away.

A very sad loss to Doctor Who fans and the programme.
