The Tardis

Postby Curious » Mon Nov 11, 2013 10:36 pm

Here's something I made a few years ago.

It's scratch built from blueprints I found on the internet for the original police call box.
Made mainly from 1mm plywood and four bits of pine.
The light glass on the top is the bottom half of a plasic pill bottle.
The paint was applied with a course brush using a dry brush technique

You know they say it's bigger on the inside , I checked... , it realy isn't..! :shhh:

Looks good. Your one isn't bigger on the inside, because you haven't installed the other dimension into it yet.

Welcome to the forum Curious.

Love the TARDIS. You've made an excellent job, and it's a great first post

It's easy to make it bigger on the inside. You just need to install an optical dimension doubler. (I've heard that some people call them mirrors, but they obviously don't know what they're talking about :laughing-rolling: )
Cheers

Thank you for those kind words.

I'm working on The Titanic now , but soon as I finish I will start on that interdimensional thinge-mejig.
I think I've got a sonic screwdriver knocking about somewhere...

Hey Guys.

Steve , thanx for the invite, but for which model , the Tardis , the trans-dimensional thingy or maybe the Titanic?
Only... , one's already finished , the second I couldn't build if my life depended on it (even with the screw driver) and the last one is close to being finished so , bit late in the day to do a diary.
I could post a "what I changed or addapted , or what I found to be wrong in the instructions" if you like.. :superlglue:

Hey Morrigan... Best Doctor , David Tennant.
But more to the point , best "assistant" ever? Billie Piper , she can assist me any day! :shhh:
Of the occasional ones , Kylie and/or Michelle ryan

Hey Paul.

Thanks , glad you enjoyed my little project. :)

Are you asking me to post the drawings I used to make the Tardis?
Cause I'm not sure if there is still copyright on them.

You can probably find scale drawings to a standard Police Box with Google if you want to build one yourself. There is also a book called the Dr Who Technical Manual (OOP) that has scale drawings. It looks like a fairly straight forward scratch build, but getting the interior details inside might be tricky :laughing-rolling:
Cheers

It's easy once you have the other dimension installed, you just walk inside it. Hard part is installing the other dimension in the first place, it's a good idea that you have plenty of space round you to start with.
