M4 HST and Long Tom 155mm

Postby Dazza » Sat Aug 16, 2014 7:39 pm

This is The M4 HST by Hobbyboss and the AFV Club Long Tom. The extras I used are Friul tracks, AFV Club shells, Archer transfers, stowage from Value Gear Details and Military Might UK scale maps. The Tarpaulin on the back of the HST is homemade as is the cammo net on the Long Tom. Hope you enjoy. :D  :D  :D

Thank you for your comments peeps. Casper, the washes are my own make, I use artists oils and white spirit. I use the same for the rain and rust streaks. The powders I use are anything I can find, ground up artists chalks, plaster of paris mixed in with pigments which I get from grinding up make up from the pound shop, even garden earth and sand. I have an old plastic kit I use as a tester, so I just experiment with what ever I can use. The tarp was made out of a tissue painted with watered down wood glue, left to dry then painted with Khaki and folded up.

You should put together a series of photos of the mediums you use that are not found in modeller shops as reading what you used to get the effect you have sounds simple and inexpensive. THATS creativity. And the model is something special, an other feast for the eyes. :-)
