H4H Warrior

Postby Swordfish Fairey » Sat Oct 11, 2014 10:36 am

I built this Warrior two years ago as part of a group build on Britmodeller to support Help for Heroes........
Image
Image

I started with a place mat base that I stuck poly ceiling tiles to.....
Image

I built a wall out of the tiles and gave the base a Polyfiller coating.....
Image

After a bit of painting the part built kit was loosely placed in position breaking its way through the wall.........
Image

Image

A quick coat of semi-gloss green was applied to provide some depth and to allow some of the original colour to show through in scuffed areas......
Image

An Eduard etched set was used to up the level of detail provided in the kit.........
Image

Some parts of the model had the green just in the areas where it would be darker....
Image

After a coat of Revell 'sand' I scuffed a few places with a Scotchbrite pad to remove the sand and show the original green underneath..........
Image

Basically complete, just needs some figures to breathe life into it, and of course some all important weathering................

Fully detailed, but still not manned up.............
Image

Squaddies drafted in.........And weathered too.............
Image

Image

The kit used was the Academy Warrior MCV "Iraq 2003" in 1/35th scale, I also used Eduard's Warrior detail set and a metal cannon bought on Ebay from Poland but don't ask me the make.....

I was pleased and honoured that the model was voted by the other members of B.M. as the best entry in this Group Build.  .........................
