Hi Fellow Modellers,
Some background to my recent postings.
1)Thank you for your compliments on my 2nd Winter dio.
This Sherman is the first American AFV I have built with US infantry.
It was very challenging to create the winter scene. The idea came from two articles in the monthly magazine Scale Modelling, on building a winter Sherman and the other on how to create a snow scene.
The snow scene was created by using DELUXE MATERIALS 1.Scenic shovelled snow & 2.Scenic Snow kit containing scenic snowflakes, scenic bond, & Icy sparkles.
I chose to make this basic snow scene based on the French boccage countryside.
2) Yes ..it is a Tamiya model I particularly enjoy building theirs & AFClub kits.
I also like to when available to use purpose made metal barrels , they appear so much more realistic that the plastic ones supplied. When funds permit I try use metal tracks as well.
3) I originally got the"winter" bug when building my winter dio .... 8 Ton semi track 20mm FLAKVIERLING + crew ,W.Europe 1945. a very enjoyable & challenging build(.just posted) Welcome your comments.
4)I have built some" desert/european dios" as well .Which I would like to post at a later date.
Regards John.
