Damaged deck pieces

Postby number1 » Sat Sep 07, 2013 5:17 pm

Just back from holiday to find issues 96-99 had been delivered, unfortunately to get them through the postbox it looks like the postie "folded" them in half breaking the deck pieces in issue 97, anyone else have this happen to them?
Will have to ring Hachette monday to get a replacement. :angry-banghead:

One of my decks was bend and split, but after gluing it on you could not see the damage, it it is snapped in half that is a different matter and need replacing

That's a shame.

Try having a friendly chat with your postie if you can, show him the model and impress how important it is that the issues are treated carefully.

My postie was curious a few years ago with all these black packages arriving regularly, so I showed him the half built Bismarck and he has been really careful with the packages ever since.

I've ordered a replacement from hachette, problem is the decks split across the grain and would be visible, I suggested they put do not bend labels on their packaging but was told thats not possible!
Think I will have to get a bigger letterbox :laughing-rolling:

Just had the replacement through the post - 2 sets of the same decking and both bent and part split but in different places! I suppose I just choose the best of out 3 for each seperate part I need. Looks like there is little point in asking for yet another replacement.

My letterbox is wide enough to take them without folding - have you got an 'old style' slot??

I am having the same sort of problem.
I choose to get my issues via my newsagent to avoid postal damage to parts.
Well apart from a few issues being late I have reached issue 103 and 104.

No supply to the agent cannot get a date of expected deliver either.

Have contacted hatchett direct and they have finally replied and said they have the relavent issues and can post.

Dont really want to have it via post as thhe service seems to wreck items for me.

What is anyone opinions regarding Post.

Do I Go Post or Not.

Any comments welcome

Id stick with the news agent. I get mine from my local newsagent , I check each issue for damage . If it is they then sort it for me. I have collected all my other partworks from the same agent and over the years I have got to know them very well and I have even had them ring me to say an issue have arrived but its damaged and they then got on to the supplier with out even doing anything.

I has all my partworks either via my newsagent (Tiger Tank) or from me local COOP for victory and hood. Never had any problems only a few issues were late but never damaged.
