casp #33 is the front chassis part that gets screwed onto the main big chassis we've got some time ago - need to see if that is similar to the nissan in any way...
the front extensions of the main chassis tend to be a bit distorted but with the aid of the smaller part i got it pretty straight and aligned even without any screws -
of course i've had everything filed flat as there are some smaller imperfections that might accumulate when several parts get assembled -
I'll screw them together before I paint everything black as it should be - both parts are heavy metal btw just in case but I think i've mentioned that already...

a small update as I didn't had the parts sent out for quite a while (saving postage on the light items...)

#36 front LHD suspension motor
Image
#37 front RHD suspension motor
Image
#38 front suspension actuator cogs + travel-end-cut-off contacts and hardware
Image
#39 heater assembly part #1 for engine compartment
Image
#40 heater hoses assembly + hardware for engine compartment
Image
#41 heater lever + hardware for the instrument panel
Image
#42 internal front side panels + bonnet catch release arms
Image

the last two news should be posted in the next instalment, laptop playing games with me and don't want to lose this here...

next up

#43 "hand brake" pedal assembly + hardware -
for all not familiar with the DS she had a 3rd pedal -
remember, the DS21 is semi-automatic so comes without a clutch pedal (normally the 3rd pedal) which is useless as the gear box disengages the moment you touch the gear lever,
so there's the 3rd pedal which will engage the parking brake + a lever which disengages when you pull - for all who drove with this system, it's cool on a slope as take off is easy...
Image
#44 rear hydraulic suspension spheres + a few parts furbished to replace bad pieces from previous issues:
the front seat rear assembly now made of a different material + including screw hole lids + two new front suspension pieces - the old wouldn't line up the motors in a parallel line...
Image

that's it for this time, #45 contains the rear brake drums,
just on a collectors note: all of this which arrived fitted in my right hand, could have been as well supplied in two or 3 issues rather than being spread in 9 -
I know they need to make a living out of this and we'll have brighter times with the large pieces - ah well the joys of partworks...

btw as my second model (did I mention i was mad and buying two sets...) will be a convertible,
I have bought a spare boot lid for the alpine renault and will use the hinge to recreate the boot lid hinges on the DS convertible,
great stuff at 1€ (as it's the premier issue of the alpine...) and I don't need to do a half hearted attempt of fabricating an appropriate internal hinge...

next up:

#45 rear brake drums including brake pipes:
Image

#46 another wheel assembly, they claim it's the LHD rear:
Image

#47 front metal undertray:
Image
btw. almost escaped me, they started numbering the parts with #41 so if storing the parts you don't need to do anything to identify them...
Image
#48 front brake cooling ducts including support bracket
Image

next 3 issues will see us getting the rest of the front suspension + inner front wings, slowly nearing half of the issues -
suppose the missing body parts will be another 11-15 issues (depending on how many parts they'll need to complete the roof assy),
probably some 5-8 issues to complete the door internals, 6 more to get the windows, 5-6 to complete the steering and exhaust,
maybe 2 to get us the door posts which will need to be substantial parts as all doors open, rear bumper and other brightwork may need 3-4 issues,
...
which would leave us with another 20 issues to complete 110, so they might split the remaining parts in even more issues...

I have up to 53 here. Might do something soon, but the weather has been so good I haven't touched this, the GTR , started the aventador or looked at completing the tiger in a couple of months!

and guess what, #68 is the complete front wing assembly - both sides, rear cross part and front cross part + side markers, impressive piece
I thought they'd let us have the front wings as separate pieces - now we're 40 issues short of the end, and we need the doors, roof, windows - will we be getting two screws per issue at the end

the next parcel on the way to me containing the roof subframe for the ds - #70
at last she'll start looking like a car with the rear and front mudguards + the new part in place...
wonder what they'll get us with the next 40 issues, hot air??!

let me have a quick check:

doors - 4
roof + inlay - 2
windows - 6
door inserts - 4
various chrome pieces + rear turn signals - 4
headlights + rear lights - 4
door handles, antenna, wipers - 4
rear bumper - 1
boot lid -1

would be 30 issues - what with the balance of 10...

small update here -
we are at issue 96 now, still missing main parts like the front doors, the front valance and the exhaust pieces,
the doors are 3 issues each, very curious how they'll split up the rest to get us to 110...

Hi.
Today it is saturday and I received an alert from journaux.fr, number 107 is out.
Two issues in the same week.
I paid 9,99 eur as usual + with 17,43 eur of shipping cost :?
I wonder about the weight of this.... what this issue contains?
I am very curious.

I don't know about the part betto, we should already have everything that is heavy -
the last heavy piece was 105, the spare wheel, now there's only the exhaust missing and I don't think it's metal, but who knows...maybe the battery cover, but that would be plastic as well...

Yeah....
I already bought the 105, it was not so expensive.
I mean, are you sure the showcase is only destined to subscribers?
I suspect. ;)

they got the showacse long ago - and it's not like with hachette italia, where they made a surprise extension for the alfa with the additional 5 issue showcase...

now I know betto,
it's the metal car bottom that covers the complete chassis - so it's a pretty large piece and might be heavy as well -
we all thought there was only the exhaust and only a small piece to core the battery box, this is really huge!!
