That solution for the rear sprocket is a stroke of genius!

Soldering it may be tricky as white metal melts about 180C if memory serves me correctly. You can't use normal solder as that melts around 220C. You can get white metal solder that melts at 70-80C, but also needs a special white metal flux. Oh, and you need a temperature controlled soldering iron or you just end up with a puddle! Superglue and filler might be easier?

thanks for your kind comments guys but after the chain snapping six times trying to get it on and off the sprocket I gave up :angry-banghead: and went back to the kit part modified to fit. I'm a bit miffed it didn't work out but the tolerances were too tight for it to work, to be honest I was amazed it actually fitted in the first place but after going on and off a few times the chain was suffering. Anyway the chain is on and it drove me nuts, took ages to get the length correct and add the last link, I still need to cut off the small support but that's it for today my nerves are shattered

Shame the sprocket didn't work, but the end result looks brilliant!

The MFH chains look great, but they are quite fragile. Certainly not a working chain!

Thanks guys much appreciated.
Sorry for my absence, been a long two weeks of nights and by the time I get home and settle down its time for bed. Some well earned rest on the way from Thursday thankfully.

Thanks Roy, not the easiest kit to build but good fun all the same. Few small bits to add and she will be done. I must be nuts buying the Italeri Triumph, apparently its even worse than the Harley.
Ordered some Mr color stainless, never tried it before and I hear good things about it.

well this kit gave me some headaches but she's all but done thankfully :) just a knob to find for the gear shifter and some watch winders for the tank oil and fuel caps. Nothing fits properly in these old Italeri kits and all the parts needs work before you start, square holes for round pegs etc  so you have to pre check the fit.
Only weathering was a small amount of diluted Mig engine grime wash around the engine. Not sure how to display it but the mrs wants it next to her Betty Boop collection so no base needed :)

It looks very realistic and nothing but respect for the mods and challenges relating to the mods….top drawer!

Thank you all for your kind comments I really appreciate it. I really enjoyed doing this one even though the kit was a nightmare and the chain snapped 6 times before I got it on the bike. I have another Italeri bike kit that I will be making a start on this weekend, it's the Triumph 3HW 1.9 scale. Looking at the parts this is also going to take a lot of pre build work to get it to look half decent before assembly, every part needs attention

next on the bench is the Triumph 3HW, I must be nuts  this kit is far worst than the Harley
I got myself a small hobby spray booth for £70 delivered, yet to try it out as yet. its small but just the right size for my man cave, the one i had was a conversion of a cooker extractor fan and it worked perfectly until my shed blew down last year in high winds and damaged it. I want to use Mr color paints on this bike and try something new but they really have a strong odour for indoor use. I wanted to try the buffable stainless steel paints to see what they are like, has anyone used these paints before and are they as good as people say they are.

I tried the Mr Colour gold but it didn’t work for me. Just looked like a normal gold paint. However it may have been me doing something wrong. Their dark iron works brilliantly though. Haven’t tried any other colours.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this kit!
